Babies, tots and teens are welcome, and we provide cots, high chair etc for free. La Petite Foret is not suited to children aged 5-12. (Why not?)
We have separate pages for Chamonix’s family activities in Summer and family activities in Winter – lots of ideas and inspiration here!
Chalet & Position
The chalet is the last house on the access road, so there is hardly any traffic, and ample parking. Please do note the chalet is small, and safety gates, fire guard, high chair, cot etc make it smaller still. We have lots of happy guests with tots! But if a lot of room is important for you, it may not suit your needs. Floorplans here. The garden is large but not enclosed so children must be supervised at all times.
Cots and sleeping arrangements
We have a guard rail for the lower bunk for small children.

1 Travel Cot: Bébéconfort Minimax

Bébéconfort Minimax travel cot for 0 – 48 months, & up to 20 kg. Shown with optional bassinet – normally we do not install it with the bassinet as we have one available.
1x Graco Petite Bassinet

Graco Petite Bassinet travel cot with optional bassinette, for 0 – 9 months, & up to 6.5 kg. Useful for small babies, as it’s much more compact than the other.
Whilst the bassinette (up to 6.5kg) fits in the bedroom easily, the travel cot (up to 20 kg) is large.
It does make the double bedroom quite full.
It will also fit into the bunk room, but only just – see photo – there is literally room for nothing else.

Please note – for regulatory reasons we are unable to add an extra mattress to the cots or bassinet, and the mattresses they come with are quite hard and thin. If your little one prefers a softer bed, please consider bringing something extra for them to sleep on.

Baby carriers for walking can be rented from Snell Sports, and trailers for bikes from Slash, and a variety of things from snow-suits to pushchairs can be rented from Ellie at Baby-Cham who can also provide accredited childcare and nanny services.
