Mountaineering in Chamonix

Chamonix is where mountaineering was born and remains a mecca for alpinists. If you'd like to try a day's mountaineering, Evolution 2 have a good range of suggestions such as a day walking on the glacier or an introduction to mountaineering, with an experienced guide.
You can also arrange a day or two with a guide yourself - discuss what you'd like to do with them and they'll make suggestions according to your ability and what you'd like to do. Though it's not cheap, a day or so out with a guide is truly memorable - their knowledge of the mountains allows you to go into places you could never dream of accessing otherwise.
