Families are welcome at the chalet

Kids love the chalet, with its enormous garden, ideal for snowman building and snowballing to work off the energy at the end of the day. In summer it's a wonderful place to play and kids can be supervised from the terrace or the balcony.

The chalet is the last house on the access road, so there is hardly any traffic, and ample parking. Should you prefer, there are bus stops very close by, and Les Praz train station is a pleasant ten minute stroll through the woods. It's a tranquil spot so you can always be sure of a good night's sleep.

The layout of the chalet is ideally suited to accommodating a family on each floor.
On the top floor, the two bedrooms (usually a double and a twin, though they can be made up as you please) are separated by the bathroom. On the ground floor they are next to each other, with the bathroom opposite.
For teenagers, the ensuite mazot can provide the feeling of independence that can really make their holiday special - or alternatively it makes a wonderful retreat for anyone who prefers a little more privacy.

Chamonix for families

Chamonix's short transfer time - it's just an hour from the airport to the chalet door! - helps make a good start to your holiday. If you're flying in, Geneva airport has an excellent nursery complete with cots - just ask the airport staff to point it out.

The low level of the village (1080m) is ideal for babies and younger children who may not tolerate altitude well.France in general is a very child-friendly place and you'll find families welcomed at all restaurants in Chamonix. The town offers much more than most ski resorts and there's a huge variety of things to do:

Summer in Chamonix - family activities

From cycling, hiking and climbing for all levels to white water sports and swimming, from horse riding and mountain railways to summer luge and adventure playgrounds - Chamonix in summer is a children's paradise. See our Chamonix family activities in Summer page for more.

Chamonix family activities in winter

From ski and snowboard lessons to husky rides and ice hockey, there's loads to do here for children of all ages. See our Chamonix Family Activities in Winter page for more.

Bringing the whole family

Childcare by the grandparents or other relatives is a great thing, and Chamonix is an ideal place for bringing all the generations on holiday. There are loads of things to do away from the slopes for all ages, and we've put together some of the best suggestions for off the slopes fun. The mountain railways are a particularly good day out for everyone when a rest is called for.
The peace and quiet of the mazot is often much appreciated by anyone who doesn't want to keep the hours that young children do!
We have both fondue and raclette sets which are tremendous fun for kids.
